The inspiration behind the naming of Kohinoor Restaurant came from the Kohinoor Diamond, a famous and historically significant gemstone that has a long and storied past. Originally mined in India, the diamond has a history dating back several centuries and has been owned by various rulers and empires. The gemstone itself is one of the largest cut diamonds in the world and is now on display in the Jewel House at Tower of London.
Founded in the early 1990s the Kohinoor Restautant is a family owed and run business located in the heart of Bracknell. For over three decades, we at the Kohinoor Restaurant have been serving the local community of Bracknell and beyond the finest and most authentic award winning North Indian cuisine. Here at Kohinoor Restaurant we pride ourselves on using only the best produce and finest ingredients to attain a level of taste and aroma that is unparalleled. The founder, Steve Hussain, relocated to Crowthorne from London in the 1980s and established the Passage To India Restaurant Bracknell which many will remember was famous not just for its cuisine but also for their popular Tamla Motown music nights. Steve went on to establish various business and restaurants in the Bracknell area with the Kohinoor being described as a gem tucked away in the corner of Priestwood Square.
